>"Kronii? Kronii, wake up!"
>Kronii rose up, startled. She looked pale and weak.
>She placed a hand on her head, blinking slowly, almost as if she was trying to convince herself to stay awake.
>The teacher's facial expression quickly became one of concern.
>"Oh, is it..."
>"Yeah, I don't feel so good today, sorry"
>"Alright, you guys know the drill. Uh..."
>"Oh wow, the class rep didn't come today. That's weird, okay, I guess I'll just choose at random then."
>The teacher murmured to herself as she looked over each student, until her eyes fell on... you.
>"Anon, can you accompany Kronii to the nurse's office, please? It's just to make sure nothing happens."
>"Ah, m-me? Okay, sure..."
>In reality, you weren't too willing to go. She was a girl you liked, but you barely talked to her, and she barely talked to you.
>She always looked so sick all the time, you didn't want to bother her. And, well... you were never too good with people.
>But you figure, now that you were given this opportunity, you may as well take it. You sat up and waited for her near the door. She took a while to get up, and walked slowly.
>You accompanied her, staying close by since she was wobbling. You tried your hardest to come up with something to talk about, but you didn't really know anything about her, and you didn't just want to come up with random small talk you were no good at, so the two of you just walked down the hallway to the nurse's office in silence...
>She didn't look at you, or make even much of a noise. She walked slowly, carefully, trying not to lose her balance. You felt like she was going to fall at any second, are you sure this girl isn't dying? It made things all the more awkward.
>When you arrived at the nurse's office, he told the two of you to come in.
>"Ah... good old Kronii. Another flareup, huh? Just lay down there and I'll get it ready."
>He prepared a large syringe with... something. You were never a big fan of needles, so it made you uncomfortable to just watch, but Kronii took the injection so calmly it was almost like she didn't feel it at all.
>"There we go... should be feeling better in just a few moments."
>The nurse looked at his watch, and then at you.
>"You're a classmate, right? Normally I stay here but, I have something to attend to. Could you stay with her? Ah, I promise you won't get in trouble with your teachers or anything."
>"No, it's okay, I'll stay."
>"Good. If something happens, just holler."
>He walked out without a care in the world. Was it really safe to leave a man with a sick girl like this?
>Well, not like you were going to complain. You didn't intend on doing anything to her anyway. You pulled up a chair and sat down next to her, and she looked away from you almost instantly.
>You weren't sure about the exact details, but you picked something from overhearing conversations. Her disease could have life threatening consequences if not treated properly.
>She must be used to going to the doctor frequently. You wondered if she ever got lonely.
>You noticed she was playing with something... wait, is that...?!
>"Is that a Bionicle toy?"
>She scoffed and turned away from you. She probably assumed you'd make fun of her for it...
>"No, I'm not here to make fun of you or anything like that! I-it's just that... this is the first time I've seen a girl with one..."
>"It's not weird or anything! I tink it's cool."
>She chuckled.
>"Heh... is that really what you believe?"
>"Actually, no... if you're being that awkward... maybe you really do believe it"
>Her words stung a little, but it at least calmed you down to know she trusted you to some extent.
>She opened her hand, so that you may see the toy.
>"What is that, like, a spider?"
>"It's a Visorak."
>You had no idea what that is...
>"Oh... sounds cool."
>"I'm not particularly attached to it. I just brought it because, if I had one of the larger ones, Korone and the others would just steal it... or break it."
>"Steal it?! Why would they do that?!"
>Actually, you can probably guess why.
>"I dunno. Go ask them."
>You'd really rather not...
>...
>"You know what, I have an idea, Kronii. Why don't you give me your number?"
>"Eh?"
>"Well, this is the last period so we don't have a lot of time to talk, but... if you gave me your number, we could... talk about it together more later? I-I mean, I don't know crap about Bionicle, but I can at least learn."
>She smiled a little.
>"Fine. You'd better actually use it, though... if you ghost me, I'll get really mad."
>Jeez, how many people pretend to be this girl's friend? She's just sick, she didn't wanna be this way...
>"I promise you I'll call you."
>You exchanged numbers silently.
>"I'll see you later, then?"
>"Sounds like a plan."
>As the bell rung and the nurse came back in, you slowly stood up, waving her goodbye as you returned to the classroom to fetch your things.
>As you walked away to begin your new life, you noticed her waving back at you, smiling. Maybe you did a really good thing today...
