Half the shit on the JP sever is purposely monument that were built just for the sake of building it, it's no different than EN decorating the sounding areas near the portal, that's also not factoring in that EN2 has only been around since the the deadline has been in effect so lot of their personal projects are kind of getting incorporated, or nor does it factor projects that have nothing to do the portal (Mori's Carnival, Gura's temple)
You seem to be romanticizing the JP sever and austically creating an arbitrary cut-off point what is and isn't allowed to build. JPs built several buildings, a rest area, a bank, and giant "holowood" sign near their portal so the area would less desolate, do you find that "cringe" and "souless" as well?

I wish it was possible for viewers to do their own audio balancing as needed. These girls only have a flash of feedback from their chats to manage their own audio, which always have a bias towards saying things are fine or saying their oshi isn't loud enough.
