It became a meme for various reasons but that day the board froze and the last post in the school days thread was the comment from OP Nice boat, the japanese though it was hilarious and spread it in their own boards, when /a/ unfroze a couple of hours later anons immediately started memeing with images of the boat or any boat, a meme was born. The episode that was postponed for a week due to the gruesome murder ironically ended with Kotonoha and makoto's head on a boat... we still don't know if that was changed on the run or for some weird coincidence the episode ended up having a boat, I do think it may have been overflow that changed it at the last minute after seen the meme potential that they clearly exploited in comiket too.
