I'm Asian. My mother didn't move out from my grandparents until I was 10, and she was in her 30s. My uncle (her younger brother) stayed since he was a college student and has his own family in the same house with my grandparents. Asian families don't make a big deal out of moving out, in fact it's often encouraged to stay within the same vicinity of each other (my parents, grandparents, and aunt all live within 5 miles of each other). It doesn't mean children aren't taught any household skills, however, and they don't care as much since most of them understand how shit the housing market is currently. If kids want to move out it's their choice.
