it was one of the first ones ever released, from 1997, derived from one of the ultima games. i enjoyed it the most because it had lots of things that would be imaginably "toxic" and "hardcore" in today's market, including being able to lure extremely dangerous monsters into newbie areas, "kill anyone anywhere" pvp, and equipment loss on any death

i will never again play an mmo that doesn't at least live up to those standards. I want to get really fucking mad. the ground is too soft
