duolingo is okay for helping learn and retain Kana, but you're gonna have to grind it hard
I would recommend dropping it once you reach the real fuckery (Kanji) because it's slow and especially awful for learning grammar and the different tones of conversation

an exaggerated but useful take on different resources and usefulness (obviously take with a grain a salt)

mainly just try to branch out and try to find a method that helps things stick, don't just stick to duolingo, rosetta stone, etc. because you will eventually stagnate
