I fought him last night and I think you're underestimating how annoying he is.
In theory, a lot of his attacks should be able to be dodged easily enough (roll through the high energy balls, jump over the low ones). However, the roll in this game will randomly gain or lose momentum depending on how fast you are moving or which direction you are going. This can fuck you over when you need to quickly change from a roll to a jump, as his patterns are random- not to mention, he resets the attack if you're hit, increasing the time until you can deal damage to him, thereby increasing the chance of you not having enough rings. And that's not even mentioning his energy ball sections, which while the first two can be okay (provided you have patterns that allow you to climb while avoiding the homing energy balls), the final one can end your run simply because the pattern didn't give you a wide enough gap to get through. You also have to taken into account the total bullshit of the two lakes in the arena, which can catch you out easily, requiring you to restart the fight. There's also total bullshit like Korone just experienced, where your homing attack can end before you hit his life support machine, making you take damage and have to repeat a cycle. It's genuinely a frustrating boss, and somehow even harder than the next final boss.
