how do you "git gud" at games you never played before? Most "gud" people are speedrunners who "practice".
Platformers all come with their own set of mechanics, the more you play the worse you'd be on average, and the average streamer plays tons of them all with different controls sometimes over various consoles. Uncomparable to FPS where it's basically always mostly the same keys and aiming as a basic skill.
