Yes, in terms of difficulty it's quite fair and fun, in chronological order don't worry because the stories between the other games aren't linked.
the only drama is that in RS3 even though you can play with several characters, the story and important enemies, the dialogues are the same but with some minor variations, so if you keep seeing Sora finish the game and you want to try it, you know almost everything that awaits you...
