I've realized that sometimes, having an extra layer of protection against your own bad habits helps because in the first week or two of trying to quit them, you're much more cognizant of why you really want to quit. it's down the road when it's not as obvious why you wanted to quit in the first place they are that these kind of things help, and I think vtubers/streamers in particular are an easy one to slip into being less of a social person in general by saying "it's just entertainment" but then you find yourself maybe not texting that person to hang out because there's a stream in front of you and it's enough to be content for an hour or two.

not even mentioning how much worse it inevitably gets when you have a habit of posting on /vt/ that your brain has linked with watching the actual streams themselves, you start by treating it like stream chat but readable but then end up jacking off more because lewds gets posted, reading stupid shit, just generally wasting time and procrastinating. there's just enough "fun" parts and things that are actually funny to distract you from how bad of a habit the whole thing actually is
