I hate mori but in her defense here she was supposed to act a bit cunty since she was meant to play the tsundere in the relationship (a phoenix wants to be with the reaper but reaper's don't take immortal phoenixes, haha) but was actually uninterested and bad at it.
Kiara was also pretty terrible on her side too but that may have been due to Mori being bad, trying to carry extra weight and push even harder which in turn made Mori distance herself from it even more.
Forced ships are just a bad idea in general, allowing chemistry to develop naturally first is a much better idea.
