They don't want to worry us too much, but right now, they can't help it.
They want to be a light that makes US feel better, but they're also emotional women who cry when the wind blows the wrong way. What they need to realize is that they fostered an audience of people like me who see them as their wives and/or daughters and WANT to comfort them and hold them sometimes.
The final sentence and the fact that they said they spent a bunch of time reading messages from us makes me think they're slowly accepting that that it's fine to confide in us a bit if they need to. And man, they REALLY need to right now...

My new passtime is listening to music from a while ago that I looked forward to at the time and wondering what they were doing back then.
Plastic Beach coming out was a really big deal to me, but they likely never listened to a single song. What was on their minds on that day? What were they looking forward to? What were their concerns for the near future? I never reach any conclusions, but I keep doing it anyway.

I've was spending the last 2 hours going through old music I used to listen to and getting really nostalgic about life in general.

Them being away for so long really makes me appreciate them so much... I didn't realize just how much color they added back into my life. Now that they've been gone for a while, I just feel... wierd. I haven't "reverted" or anything... The things they've inspired me to do/chase im still going forward towards, it's just so many parts of my day feel lonely now.

Absolutely this. This is a life changing situation where they'll be apart from their parents and their old lives forever. Its such a nerve-wracking and stressful time, and they need us to be supportive of them. They'll miss us just as much as we'll miss them.
They've protected our smiles so unbelievably well(or at least, mine), so it's time to give back even if it's just a little bit .

It actually really hit me how much this means to them... It was a lifelong dream that they'd pretty much completely given up on, and now they're actually REALIZING it. And they're thanking US for it...
Man, I love them both so much. They truly deserve this, and they really deserve all the happiness and success that will come of it.
Obviously, I can't get past how much I'll miss them in the coming days, but knowing that they'll finally have something they dreamt about for so long... that'll get me through.

I agree with you. I think they were being 100% honest about their tastes, but I also feel like the reason they were being honest is because they genuinely want to push/inspire us to be better people.
