Kek, I have to wonder what your friend meant in that case, because the resemblance to Yakuza is fairly nonexistent. They're both beat-em-ups I guess, but the combat is really different, and God Hand doesn't have the exploration aspect of Yakuza games. As for being serious, in difficulty sure, but the game itself is pretty silly.
