This is not really comparable, this is about TV show characters, there's no factor of interaction and the characters wouldn't mentally prepare the viewers for the end, for fictional characters the end is something abrupt in most cases, the reality is that this specific type of P.R. (streamers/vtubers) is relatively new and there isn't much data about it for now.
I do kind of agree with your last point but most people (or atleast myself) are conscious about the possible relationships they are missing on but don't care about it, everything outside of interacting with someone could be seen as dmg to relationships you could have formed instead.
I may have dragged this discussion a little more than I should but I really find the topic interesting and think it shouldn't be seen as something completely good or bad. Apologies to my fellow teamates, Ame cute
