I was on the same page as you. I didn't want to post AI art anywhere for the fear of criticism. But I said fuck it and made a separate pixiv account and just post stuff I like there. People can always turn off "ai art" in the settings so its gucci.
I can't draw for shit, I tried to, I even have an old tablet but man it is hard, difficult and time consuming. With the power of AI I can make my imagination ideas come to life and I'm so glad. I can make X in Y setting and I don't want to ask for more. The models have improved so drastically over this short period of time, we went from goodshit model(which was one of the first vtuber oriented models merged with nai model) to the whatever the fuck grapefruit, counterfeit ultra mix. Picreal - some new creamsicle model idk.
People hate AI art because it treads on their own skill. A new artist has nowhere the capability of drawing the way AI does, thus breeding jealousy. I would be the same if I stuck with drawing probably lol. But once an artist passes a threshold of developing their own style/learning anatomy etc. They surpass the ai because they dont have to fuck with RNG hands and other oddities.
I'm deeply thankful for what I have right now and all the people who have contributed to making SD as openly available as possible.
