It started thanks to Miko saying nigga during a GTA V stream, then the Azur Lane collab from late-November to mid-December 2019, which brought EOPs like me to clippers like Lyger, Hololive Moments, Sticky Nut, Yoyuu, etc. It then got bigger thanks to Korone's interactions with English speakers around May last year, Coco's meme review and then HoloEN.
It also helped that Hololive JP's management interacted a lot with English speakers during early 2020 with community posts on YouTube, official HoloGra subtitles, a Facebook page, acquiring the fanmade Hololive subreddit, etc.

I'll be forever salty about that. Azur Lane was what brought me to Hololive and rekindled my interest on vtubers after 3 years of not watching Kizuna and Luna. FUCK the CCP.. At least I can still cherish the ones I pulled (I'll never forgive myself about not getting Mio and scrapping Matsuri).
