SF6 was something that the TALENTS THEMSELVES wanted in on.
Korone had been doing SF6 streams for the longest time, and learning it quite seriously as well, so an FGC tournament was an obvious direction for her.
Also she never made her fans feel unwelcome, the collab was pretty much just polite all around with fun bantz between the participants, and most importantly it never delved into romantic or sexual tension between Korone and any of the males.
We, the fans, were always with her and cheering her own - represented by pic rel. And so there was nothing for the fans to get angry about.

This collab on the other hand is a corporate mandated push with girls that were completely uninterested in OW2 joining out of nowhere - making it feel forced by management.

Professional collabs in tournaments and shit for expanding the audience were never off the table for idols, and Korone's a big gamer and played Street Fighter a lot, so it was seen as a simple extension of her existing content.
Also, unlike most of the other instances of branding shift, Korone never directly shit on her fans, made them felt "cucked" or otherwise made them feel bad or unwelcome on her stream (pic rel).
Hence why her numbers have not been hurt whatsoever.
