I mean, insufferable elitism is the price of talking to people who actually do their reps on this site, not limited to Japanese learners. Though I do find that /hlg/ in particular can really hang on to ancient grudges over shit that may have been falseflagging or a simple misunderstanding in the first place. That said, I do think there is quite a bit of shitposting going on there. It's just that it's been almost three years of in-jokes, repetition of the exact same ironic shitposts in a facile manner that's not obvious to an outside observer and steadfastly pretending to be retarded which is quite a layer for a completely new person to pierce. Not to mention some of the new people thought they found their tribe upon seeing those ironic shitposts.
