Basically, you can assume that your nation's merchants are trading with other nations, and on top of that you can also have specific official trade deals with other nations for specific resources if you want.

Nasfaqg as a nation tends to control events through influence, from the shadows. So I think it makes sense that their catalognauts would have a similar role. The catalogbeat would be Suzaku, the Nasfaqg catalognaut would be Lelouch. Such flow... I don't think catalognaut->looks like chuuba is a hard rule, since there are many concepts that don't have a chuuba at their core. I think they would look extremely rich most of all.
