I have to unleash my autism and specify these aren't lungs in the proper sense of the word, but yes, insects have more complex breathing systems than they get credit for.
Other ideas: spiders are godly ambush predators. I could see them taking the niche of polar bears in ice shelf ecosystems, waiting in ambush for seal-like creatures coming up to breathe.

Tarantulas got up to cat-size, but that isn't the limit of what a chitin-based exoskeleton can support. Centipedes show shit could get pretty freaky with the right evolutionary pressure.
