I dont get all the outrage, How is the guy wrong? Hololive and Nijisanji is literally the same since all of their talent/livers have to roleplay as a character while Vshojo doesnt have too.

Sync be like that sometimes. RAWs likely follow the BD timing to the T, but if the subs are sync'd to e.g. Crunchyroll or a TV airing or something then the amount of those few frames of black before/after the OP can change, sometimes dramatically.

VLC can advance/retard subtitle timing fairly easily

Make it negative to play them earlier, positive to play them later

I'm sure MPV has a way to do it as well but I don't know it off the top of my head, and for MPC-HC, how you do it will vary depending on whether or not you're using madVR+xySub or the internal subtitle renderer

Also lot of experience editing .ass subtitles - tried to start my own JJBA p5 BD release with better typeset CR subs with proper stand names and gave up because the encodes were taking too long. They open easily in Notepad, but for "mass sync edits" you'll want to open them using Aegisub. You can fix sync fairly quickly in there, the sync/timing options allow you to apply any timing changes to "all subtitles" or get specific like "selected subtitles", "all subtitles after this one", etc.
