Honestly the best thing anyone can do as a content creator is avoid their community and social media at large outside of certain venues (con appearances, I guess.) It's okay when you start out, when you're small, and you'll invariably meet a few people you forge a real connection with along the way, but as you grow, once you get past a certain point... it's just not safe to reach out to anyone that isn't also a creator. And that sucks shit, it really sucks ass, but that's just how it is these days...

Liminal anon spaces like this might be okay in moderation if you can act right, but... for all the good that can come of interacting with the people who support you, the internet is a different place now. People are too aggressive, too judgmental, too radicalized in every sense to be reasonable when interacting with a real human person will never, and could never, live up to their insanely idealistic expectations for how an entertainer has to behave.

As long as children rule the mainstream platforms, it's gonna keep being like this. They're easily impressionable, in great numbers, and quick to work into a moral panic over relatively nothing by people looking for a mob to attack the things they don't like. You could live life as a sexless hikkineet nun that has never made eye-contact with the opposite sex and only uses the internet to make knitting tutorials for little old ladies, and you will still get called a toxic whore groomer rapist no matter what you do if someone has decided they want to make you disappear. It's because people don't want truth and honesty and nuance in the things they engage with. They want easily-digestible black-and-white narratives where one side is 100% ideologically pure and correct and the other side is 100% morally bankrupt and wrong, and then they want to tear down the "evil" side so they can be the heroes fighting against the corrupting force they've been warned their whole life is lurking just around the corner.

Shit just sucks. The only winning move is not to play.
