She was one of the most unsavory, yabe prone and abrasive characters in Nijisanji and, yet, they just let her be herself without interfering.

I don't think that's the problem. Most of the graduations (on the JP side) came not out of monetary issues but content priorities.
Mayuzumii left because clearly the company he helped prop up was more interested in "sing and dance" than in their wacky past.

With the impending graduation, here is something amusing: Gundou was “the canary in the mine”.
A whole lot of the recent complaints within the company (overt or through alt accounts) is the fact Nijisanji clearly wanted a piece of the “idol pie” and was changing from a laid back care free “anyone can be a liver” kind of company into a professional, goody goody, clean image “entertainment factory”.
Mayuzumi made it a point to disclose his departure was caused by that, “shifting priorities” and Gundou was another one also outspoken about it.
