The bullshit long ads have been a thing since 2016 or so back when Susan wanted to reshape the way videos were monetized on the site, it's nothing new.
In my case I normally get 6 or 7 minute long Trap MVs or just from any other shitty genre it exist over here, plus some WACTOR ads since they got an spanish speaking branch (don't give two shits about them) and I even got a Niji ad promoting Obsydia I think.

The worst thing of it? the odds of these ads being unskippable are stupidly high sometimes.
