Set an alarm on your phone for 20 minutes as you lay down. It will go off before you reach the deeper phases of sleep, and prevent you from sleeping too long. For longer naps, do 1.5 hours, which is a full sleep cycle for the average person. That's the next time you'll be close to awake, and can easily be woken up. If you try to wake up in between those times, you're likely to interrupt SWS/deep sleep, and get that shitty groggy "bad nap" feeling, which is basically your brain rebooting while you're awake, since it had shut itself down to do things like filter toxins. This also has other negative effects, like worsening your memory. Sleep tight, little machiroon.
