I have bad brain fog...Do not compare yourself to people who can bulk memorize, they are the minority.

The trick is more to familiarize yourself over time to trick you brain into thinking its important information. (ie you may not remember random names, but if you see your coworker everyday it will start to stick in your head)

Lets say your learning げんき(genki)

Day 1, You review the card, you keep testing yourself until you can get the answer.
Day 2 review again, you have forgotten entirely, you review again until you can get the answer
Day 3 review again, I think it was ginke?, nope review again
Day 5 you have finally gotten it right.

Here is the trick.... You need to review it again 1 week & 1 month after day 5. Your brain will then put it into long term storage.
