The problem with the Pokemon TCG when compared to stuff like Magic is that Pokemon is marketed predominantly at children. Adult players understand power creep and would like expansions that slowly reel things in, but no kid is going to be spending money on packs where all the cards are weaker than the ones he already has. Combine this with the fact that collectorfags who don't play the game don't give two shits about power creep, and you end up with bullshit like pic related.
It's wild to think that over the course of the first ten expansions to the Pokemon TCG, there were only six cards that had over 100 HP. Just six cards out of hundreds over a period of just over three years. And now every single fucking expansion has multiple Pokemon breaking 300 HP. So glad I dropped this shit after Plasma Storm and Boundaries Crossed.
