I missed deck construction, but saw some of the cards, seems like light azorius control. Him stating that there isn't a lot of removal means he's not on hard control. Also a lot adventure cards so mostly based on the Eldraine deck archetype which tries to do a lot of stun counters. With the control he has right now, he has card advantage and mostly slowed down his Boros (heavy aggro) opponent's curve so he'll probably win this one.

The real trick in Arena/Fortress is to have at least one player be a castle army civ to hold off the hordes while the other player booms to imperial and then takes over until castle guy catches up then you sweep the map
