Meat helps! Beans and other legumes are also a good source. Lean meat generally has more iron content. I don't know where you are, but if elk, venison (deer), or kangaroo meat is available to you, it generally has higher iron content than beef and pork. Mussels are another good source, especially if you are tired of or don't want to eat liver (no hard feelings, I can do a lot to make liver palatable but at the end of the day it's not my favorite dish either.) Leafy greens tend to have decent iron content on the veggie side -- collard greens, spinach, and so on. But even if you ply yourself with iron, it's a matter of helping your body actually take it in. Just like how Sonny Brisko takes magnesium along with his Vitamin D supplements, iron-deficient folks do well to up their Vitamin C intake, too... if vitamin deficiency is the cause of the anemia, anyway. If it's from another thing such as disease or illness, it becomes more troublesome to manage -- but in moderation targeting deficiencies via dietary changes is usually a worthwhile endeavor!
