You know I had forgotten about this in the midst of all the shitposting and ERB's retardation, but how the fuck is this gen gonna do gen things? They're the first gen to be primarily based outside of NA prime time, and who will be focused on a primarily non-NA audience. Yes, all gens have had relative spreads of their stream times but we meme about EU beggars and their dead hours for a reason. Will they be doing their group collabs in EU prime time, whatever the fuck that will be? Or will it be in NA prime time as is standard? Immediately post-debut they'll probably be in NA prime time for a while but we know at least half of them are destined for EU times.

Do lesbos also like menheras? Is attraction to menheras a universal thing or is the distribution lopsided one way or the other?

Japanese is very similar to English in that its has been influenced and altered beyond recognition in the past 1200 years or so by outside cultures, and we both are quick to adopt loan words from other languages. Japanese has arguably been one of the largest influencers of modern English -- particularly in the past 50 years -- but post-WWII Japan has been adopting English words at lightspeed. The difference is Japanese speakers can still partially read and have a general understanding of Old Japanese when the writing system was adapted straight from China. Not so much for English after the Normans took over England and dumped thousands of French words into our daily language. Listen to this guy recite Beowulf in Old English and tell me if you understand a damn thing he's saying outside a handful of words: https://youtu.be/2WcIK_8f7oQ?t=110

I think you guys are blowing things out of proportion here, the chumbud & hooman story was horrible, but they were both pretty weird. Take a look at the DMs, the hooman may have been 'cheating' and doing some weird stuff, but the chumbud was acting like a groomer e.g. telling him to buy a choker as an act of ownership, calling him a 'good boy'. It was clear that the relationship was based on sexual gratification. It was by no means healthy, not even from the start. If someone tells you that they love you ten days after meeting, something's up. Something's very wrong about that.

Sincere online relationships are not impossible, and NASFAQ has fostered the kind of close-knit and trusting community that would facilitate such a relationship. I have talked at length with people about how incredible this community is, how it seems like it shouldn't be possible. I have become great friends with people here who seem sincere, who seem to have good hearts. I'm not going to tell you to trust people with everything, but I am telling you to think realistically. Would this person go out of their way to fuck with you? Please think about their goals, about their actions both when you are around and when you are not around, about how humans work. Most people won't go to great lengths to fuck you up, because they're too concerned with their own problems and aren't fictional 2D villains. For example, I don't want to bother people. I don't want to cause suffering for others, because I know that shit hurts. We're all suffering in this life, and that's something that unites us. Now, think about the number of people that think like that and the number of people that want to inflict suffering. Which do you think is more common? Protip: it's the former, the people who don't want to cause issues. People are less evil than you think.

Take your time and think about it, don't back out immediately. Think about how the other party would feel about you saying this if they are real in their feelings. Read through your conversations, get the opinions of others.
>>23529034
People are more mature than you think, they can deal with heartbreak without causing a huge problem. I'd like to think people here are better than the chumbud and hooman.

Agreed. It's not usually apparent to casual watchers or EOPs who believe the co-dependency jokes or watch clips of her brief venting sessions. Polka is also a highly thoughtful and introspective person who is comfortable with occasionally sharing her stream of consciousness with her core audience. But mostly, she is just an excitable dork who loves what she does, loves seeing people entertained by her work, and loves other vtubers. Also suffers from a hopeless gambling problem. She's the prodigal sunk cost fallacy fennec.

She's definitely hiding a high INT. She reads a lot, and will occasionally drop references to some pretty dense literary works like high level philosophical theory or niche stories nobody would study in school. But I think she finds it easier to not think ahead and worry herself too much, so she has more fun being a cute airhead and only occasionally using her full POL power.

It's impressive dictation CC, honestly. The poem she read is Ame ni mo Makezu (Be not defeated by the rain), which is timeless and cuts deep into the human condition. Very Polka:

"Unbeaten by the rain
Unbeaten by the wind
Bested by neither snow nor summer heat
Strong of body
Free of desire
Never angry
Always smiling quietly
Dining daily on four cups of brown rice
Some miso and a few vegetables
Observing all things
With dispassion
But remembering well
Living in a small, thatched-roof house
In the meadow beneath a canopy of pines
Going east to nurse the sick child
Going west to bear sheaves of rice for the weary mother
Going south to tell the dying man there is no cause for fear
Going north to tell those who fight to put aside their trifles
Shedding tears in time of drought
Wandering at a loss during the cold summer
Called useless by all
Neither praised
Nor a bother
Such is the person
I wish to be "
