For me, vtubers take a lot of the stresses out of the everyday reality out the social equation, kind of like anonymity, or people putting on fake personas. Some of us feel feel like we're constantly being judged for looking like sad and pathetic losers or past negative experiences. When we are socially awkward, it can make navigating these superficial layers more difficult. By donning the mask of anonymity, vtubing, etc, we can remove these superficial layers and focus more strongly on our innately human aspects such as our personalities.
