A vtuber's audience have a third person perspective. While the vtuber only ever sees form their own POV, the audience not only sees from the audience POV but can also see everything the vtuber is doing as a vtuber. The vtuber's perspective is naturally limited unless they actively imagine themselves as a simp and look at their actions from that angle.

This natural lack of empathy for text on a screen (as well as the difference in lived experiences between genders) is ultimately where a lot of the disconnect comes from. In order to understand the audience, you need to become a newtype, be able to sometimes glean personal characteristics from a person's word choice, linguistic style, and perspectives, and also self insert as a simp of the opposite gender in order to see yourself from the eyes of a self interested listener.
