Anon, you're really underestimating how much they make with merch.
According to several talents, they get the biggest cut out of it, since youtube is not involved, so at the very least 60% goes to them.
Pic related is how much Cover made with merch since geekjack has a way to datamine this info.
Ame sold "accessible" (cheap) merch and still earned almost $100K USD taking out Cover's share. If she goes full coomer merch like Kronii, with daki, boobpad, etc she'd easily make $400-500K.
Merch is BY FAR the best way to support your oshi. Its a shame that Ame went the "accessible merch" route 2 years in a row, when her genmates like Ina and Mori have merch that costs 2.5x more.
