I imagined /morig/ as being a late adopter of firearms due to being highly traditionalist when it comes to martial matters. The lack of an organized military (and individual renowned warriors that would serve as de facto leaders being highly prideful) would also mean that the orderly "stand in a line and shoot" strategies that were common at this point in time wouldn't really take hold at a large scale. I won't try to say more because I'm not super knowledgeable on guns or 18th Century battle tactics.

That said, because of their training and the added bonus of Death Masks, deadbeats are experts in CQC and tend to be extremely skilled melee weapons users, which is advantageous for the guerilla warfare tactics favored in the event of an invasion of the island itself. Probably the most notable weapon still favored by traditionalists and found in the hands of warriors throughout the island are the signature black javelins. Throughout centuries of repelled invasions of /morig/, hundreds if not collective thousands of them remain sticking out of the ground on the coastlines where they were thrown to serve as a symbol. Otherwise, the heavily armored warriors are also known to favor big fuck-off weapons to be as imposing (and chuuni) as possible. In spite of the perceived impracticality, they know how the fuck to use them. Short swords or large knives are common sidearms, as well as the bayonet of a rifle. Shrine maidens are forbidden from using firearms. They use concealed blades, short swords, and the most skilled senior priestesses learn naginata. They're also known to pop out of corners or drop out of the sky to perform Sekiro-style assassinations. A senior shrine maiden doped up with a berserker mask and a naginata is probably the most dangerous single person on Holocontinent for about 15 minutes.
