It depends. Her specific "special immigrant" skillset might preclude employment at all but the blackest of multinationals or she might be an internal transfer at Black Company Inc from Korea to the US in which case she can't switch jobs without being recertified by her new employer and no company wants to do that because it costs time and money. Basically her legal options are dependant on the details of her circumstance which is unknowable to us and I doubt she's going to dox herself on stream.

If I had to make an educated guess I would say she's an internal transfer on an H1B serving as a translator. H1Bs are a non-immigrant visa but are dual intent which allow eventual petition for immigrant status which is mostly likely why she's willing to deal with bullshit as she waits for eligibility.
