I have a discord, two in fact and the IRC channel linked in the OP as well, but i havent logged in there for about the last two? months due to my depression/social anxiety being bad. Things started to get bad shortly after i stayed at a friends place during summer as he offered me to stay at his place to get away from the stress of my current apartment for a while and i felt like i bothered people enough with my shit and then fucked off for about a month until i got back to the thread. I still didnt exactly go back to discord yet due to my usual stuff. Fun fact, said friend actually was someone i met through the thread/the threads discord when it was still alive. I talked to them for about 5 months in DMs though and knew i could trust them enough to accept their offer, while i dont mind dying i was there with my cats, so i wouldnt have accepted their offer if i wasnt sure i could trust them and no, this wasnt about anything weird, he just wanted to help out and i still feel bad for even accepting his offer as i feel like the help he offered me so far was wasted on me as he did drive pretty far just so i could get a break from this shitty apartment. But yeah in general meeting people you know online can end badly as anon mentioned.
