The game has a level syncing system so I can for example join the party of a level 15 friend and help him run his first dungeon despite being level 80 on all my jobs. It's unironically a story-driven game though so you won't be partying up with people and doing the main quest together.

Yeah, it changes depending on how many are nearby and if it's near a boss (like when Odin or Ixion spawn) it changes to combat noises and battle cries. It's cool as shit.
