I used to work at a printing press (magazines/journals), but that was even worse: it ran 24 hours a day, 12 hour shifts so there was no such thing as getting done early, there was always the next order to start.
It's pretty psychologically damaging when the person you relieve is the same person that relieves you at the end of your shift.
But now I only work 11 hours a day...yay... (but this job is far more easy).
