obviously, gura knows that, under normal circumstances, there's an expectation that she will stream on her assigned "birthday". she also likely realizes that this expectation isn't rock solid for most people, as in every other year before there has been a lot of communication and additional content leading up to it, put out there a week in advance. every day she chooses not only to not stream or communicate officially but also not even show any activity on the official twitter/youtube account, the already flexible expectation that she will have a birthday stream in the first place is weakened, not by action but by inaction. again, when communication is so low effort that people's doubts could be resolved in 5 minutes, this inaction is a choice to be made daily. if you take all of this into consideration, you get the conclusion: she chose to let people doubt whether or not there would be a birthday stream at all, as her behavior was completely different from any previous year where there was a birthday stream confirmed much earlier.
