I think a good way to understand Hololive vs Holostars's design principles to just parse through VNs or anime char collect-a-thon mobile games that feature predominately + exclusively women vs men, maybe something like Im@s vs SideM. Male otaku really go crazy for super fantastical anime girls but for the most part female otaku prefer something grounded. Anime women's bodies get exaggerated, but anime men's bodies get abstracted, that's the best way I can put it.
