It's not so much hidden as just not brought up much. Panko talked about it quite a while ago. Wemi wanted to be some specific height for some meme, I don't recall which, and it didn't make sense for Panko to be taller than her so she got shortened.
As a pankophile that loves shorties I'm quite happy with what we got. Plus her head is more proportional on a short character.
