Someone analyzed it and said her voice has authentic childlike harmonics that are extremely unusual/rare to have in adults, literally the frequency that activates your "I must protect it" paternal instincts. That is a good chunk of the mysterious rise of the Gura.

That voice alone would probably be a winner with almost any char design, but it happens to be a double slam-dunk with what Cover gave her.

Suisei, AZKi, Sora, Kiara, Towa, probably a couple others I'm forgetting. Gura has a very high ceiling thanks to her rare vocal harmonics but she's not trained like the others are, which is her biggest weakness.

gura's 5 kHz formant isn't the result of a simple parametric EQ, because it follows her pitch contour when she speaks with an unusually high or low tone as well. there are some fancy DSP filters that can do formant manipulation, but i consider that unlikely because the effect appears in, ah, older recordings where she demonstrates a much lower level of production skill that would be unlikely alongside such advanced vocal processing.

believe whatever you like, but in my analysis, all the evidence continues to suggest that her voice really sounds like that.

she has an unusual vocal formant centered around 5 kHz. adults almost never have that, only children. it's one of the frequencies that your ear is most sensitive to and subconsciously you perceive it as the vocalization of your child who needs your attention. god i love her
