GC works better for "the huh, nice [X] dip" type of comments, which if I do think about it filled in most of the thread several months ago - just those quick comments and insights, like >>21468026. Unrelated but I hope the fandeads are okay...

Basically, thread is better for effortposts, and we're suffering from lack of them and slow erosion in that department. Maybe some kind of an OC contest could liven it up, at least temporarily? Creating those by-the-thread for-the-thread events would keep things moving and if >we pool money together voluntarily, then it'd also help newfags and encourage them to engage more here.

Rough ideas for OC contests:

>OP picture contest.

etc. I'm sure there are more ideas out there, and that my ideas aren't perfect, but working them out is a start.

The Mahjong Tournament/Mario Kart Betting/Initial Art-focused Aggies have shown that there is a lot of potential and that these initiatives can work.
