Anon that's not a relationship, that's trauma bonding.
You end up leaning on one another to cover for your weakness with a few different outcomes: Neither of your improves and you both remain dysfunctional, One of you improves causing an imbalance in the relationship that breeds resentment as one person is leaving the other behind and/or one person is dragging the other down, Or both of you overcome your trauma requiring you to both go through extreme growing pains of change and having to build an entirely new foundation for the relationship.
Its the same reason crack addicts stay together for years and years. Its not love its cope.
