Touhou didn't die it just had a slow decline as the original Touhou fanbase got too old and became soulless wagies. It just failed to catch on with zoomers(they are too stupid to appreciate ZUN's flawless vision) so what remains of 2hu fandom is 30 year old pomudachis who miss the glory days.

Kancolle is technically still alive but virtually everyone left the game after years of mismanagement from the devs. It was revolutionary before gacha games really caught on and ironically one of the issues is they built the game mechanics around actually grinding instead of gacha since "gacha" wasn't as much of a thing when the game came out. Players got frustrated that everything was super rng reliant and the devs failed to update the game mechanics so they left for better military waifu games like Girls Frontline.
