To be fair, child-like innocence and ignorance are kind of running themes in the original work. I think it is an esoteric Christian thing since I remember seeing some picrel in where I live that preaches the same thing (sans cunny and thus automatically inferior). The slaves are basically bred to be more like organic machine/animal that is good at their specific task and cannot comprehend anything else, while the cunnies are also kept ignorant of basically everything that can be associated with adult life. In a way, it's basically a country-sized human zoo run by the few cunnyseurs that can actually function as adults since I assume someone has to "bear the burden".
