Ever since SJWs try to have a say in media they deem problematic, some people preemptively react in case they try to force their hand on new pieces media. In vtubers case, the most (in)famous example would be Brittany Venti painting Gura and Holofans as a bunch of pedophiles
The drawback is that while SJWs have been deranged in the past, now that something “problematic” or anything where is believed those folks may latch onto is going to release, there’s the opposite side of the spectrum (“chuds”) that will start overthinking about the feared outcomes, gatekeep the SJWs or even start hyping up the piece of media as problematic in hopes of driving away unwanted people
Gatekeeping can be good, like with every moralfag scared of lolis, but if taken too far it may aggravate existing problems or even create new ones

Okay, I’ll give my two cents because this became a drama thread and I’m not reading all the long posts, without mentioning there’s an immense amount of Twitter/Reddit newfags on both sides of the argument and many normalfags that consume a medium filled with people they despise.

Pink Cat disavowed “problematic” content but at the same time she took a huge shit on the people that enjoyed said content. Years passed and there’s the belief that she started profiting from that content again and it doesn’t help she never addressed the issues certain people have with her and also she said and acted in certain ways that are taken as she never changing her stance. What does this mean? She’s seen as a backstabber, a grifter and a hypocrite.

Now, if a defense for her needs to be made, instead of saying ‘that happened time ago’ or ‘pedos mad’, because that aren’t good defenses when it comes to the people who dislike her for the drama, I would say that while she finds displeasure in the content she disavowed, she doesn’t seem to mind that other people like it. For example, some of her friends are lolicons and shotacons and they don’t seem to hold a grudge on her, and she enjoys the content of people related to it, like Hololive.

Of course, Nyanners isn’t perfect. She apparently has a fear of people hating her so she takes some extreme measures to avoid receiving backlash, like with Nekopara which ended in an ironic way, and has showed sorrow that some may hate people related to her because of this perceived negativity when it comes to her. I would say this is the reason why she’ll never adress some things about her past.

Finally, no, lolicon isn’t pedophilia. Lolis are anime girls and they look way different from children, without mentioning the amount of fictional taboo fetishes that are immoral IRL and the brain knows how to differentiate fantasy from reality for most people. If that wasn’t the case, we would have a zoophilia, incest, rape, pedophilia, necrophilia, serial killing, whatever problem and only because of hentai alone.

tl; dr: Nyanners is a retard, but I don’t think she’s this evil mastermind and she probably desires things were different.

People give her too much shit, but I can understand why they’ll never like her.

I mean, I also noted that Gura had less viewers and now that the stream ended it can be seen Ina beats her having 20k viewers more than Gura.
Now, Gura is popular which doesn’t have to mean she has a dedicated following. You can compare it with Pekora and JP viewers and Gura having subs across the world, and that’s without considering cultural differences about streamers. That said, these international viewers end up watching the VODs and I would say her numbers are coming from there.
But what I actually came to say is that every fanbase has their own nature and for all these streamers they’re still pulling numbers even if not immediately. Also, who cares? I have to mention I’m not exactly a numberfag.
The people making these threads either just live to make everything a popularity contest or hate Gura and/or chumbuds, sometimes to the point of exaggeration. I have seen the retardation of both numberfags and antis, like comparing charity donations or circlejerk about harassment like with Kizuna Ai and the 3M subs, I could say the same about tribalists, but that’s another matter.
In the end, anons will just find reasons to denigrate other people and their status when there really isn’t any negative occurrence.
