Having her people be brutal (or at least retributive) seems to fit her lore the most and her fanbase hasn’t proven that assumption wrong yet, and having her place be a land of snow that’s clean, uncompromising, and cold, would be a fitting aesthetic as well. Having to hunt chuubanite-enriched whale and/or polar schizo for a living might also tie her thalassophobia into the culture
