IMO if you compare them side by side, the new one has way better rigging and the outfit, especially the details (flowers! bra star!)
As for the face, they are quite similar which was kinda the point to remain similar to the old design. So I can see how people might be divided between the old and the new one. Ears are an improvement tho.
The screenshot alone doesn't give the new one full justice, because when she showcased them both moving side by side you could clearly see how the old model couldn't do the things that the new one did, especially mouth tracking. Also, the old one had no toggles
