The problem is that he runs it like a deeply rooted gacha IP. He's not dumb. He's shortsighted and unwise. In some ways he's closer to Pippa than either would ever admit because he expects a hilarious implosion any second.
It started as a passion project that was never supposed to actually work and now that it does his befuddlement is making him just sort of resort to the same strategies as the games he's so very addicted to.
Point being.
We need to get him to play less slop.
